Ms. Aarolyn Hayes - Moderator

Aarolyn Hayes is a Meteorologist in the Meteorological Modeling and Analysis flight, Air Force Technical Applications Center, Patrick Space Force Base, Florida. AFTAC operates and maintains the United States Atomic Energy Detection System to monitor foreign compliance with various treaties limiting nuclear testing. The focus of AFTAC’s more than 1,100 professionals is to detect special events in the atmosphere, underwater, underground, and in space to determine if they are nuclear and to report them to U.S. senior decision makers.


Mrs. Hayes joined AFTAC as a civilian employee in November 2021 after working with ENSCO, Inc. for three years as a meteorologist. Prior to her career with AFTAC and ENSCO, Inc., Mrs. Hayes taught high school science and mathematics for 11 years. She worked at various high schools in both Virginia and Florida including schools in Brevard County. She obtained her Master’s and Bachelor’s Degrees in Meteorology from Florida State University.
